Creating Looks that are on trend can help increase the performance of your Shop the Look Pins. We got the inside scoop from a few experts on the what Spring and Summer trends are that you should be focusing on right now.
“Lavender was huge on the runways this Spring, and we’re seeing it pop up in street style in a major way. Whether you choose statement accessories or a standout top, it’s easy to pull off this playful color trend.”
– Julie Chiem, ShopStyle Shopping Editor
“In addition to lavender, Pantone’s color of the year, expect to see plenty of pink, blue, and mint in pastel hues. Hoops continue to reign supreme as the silhouette to buy… from colorful threaded varieties to minimal metal options. Finally, we expect to see Resin Accessories absolutely everywhere this season. It is the one collection we cannot keep in stock right now and we expect that demand to increase – resin is an amazing way to opt for statement styles that are super lightweight and easy to wear in warmer temps.”
– Daniella Yacobovsky, Co-Founder of BaubleBar
“This Spring is going to be all about pressed serums. Once they come into contact with body heat, they liquify and melt into the skin. It’s your serum and moisturizer in one step… [you can also] mix a little bit in with your foundation for the ultimate dewy complexion, or just pop a bit on top of the cheekbones in lieu of a highlighter. My current favorite is ‘The Super Blend’ by Maya Chia.”

“We are already seeing and will continue to see different hair types from all different backgrounds showing off natural texture. It’s about the individual—what she wears and who she is—because hair is the framework of her style. When going natural, the quality of the hair is important, so using products to enhance body, add shine and improve hair health is key. For curly hair, Oribe Curl Control Silkening Crème will add bounce and moisture, while Featherbalm Weightless Styler is great to apply before air-drying straight hair as it will leave you with an easy, effortless look.”
-Kien Hoang, Oribe Hair Care’s Director of Content & Training
“At fashion week, a big runway trend I saw for Spring/Summer 2018 was bright orange. Vibrant nails make a bold nail statement without the help of art or design. essie shades like ‘meet me at sunset’ bottle this trend perfectly, but orange isn’t always the easiest color to wear. To stay on trend, try a creamier version of the shade like ‘tart deco’ or this seasons latest, ‘at the helm’, or try a orange-y red like (my favourite essie shade) ‘geranium’.
For formal occasions I always look to the red carpet for nail inspiration. Red carpet nails this past award season were very old Hollywood with metallic nudes and deep reds. To find your signature metallic nude, find a polish two shades lighter than your foundation and layer it with a pearl like ‘imported bubbly‘ or ‘au natural’ by essie. It instantly takes your nail color from casual to dressed up. For a dark manicure statement opt for burgundy’s like ‘bordeaux’ or, essie’s classic, ‘wicked’.”
